| Ive been playing for about 15 years. I have been self taught or taught by other people who were self taught which is a big part of the reason why im not as good as i should be. I have always liked James Taylor, Jim Croce the Eagles etc. but when I saw Tommy Emmanul playing finger style I went and blew the dust off of my Washburn and tried to learn fingerstyle. I got fustrated soon after and put the guitar away again. One day I was flipping through a copy of Acoustic Guitar Magazine when I came across a free trial offer for this site. I tried it to see if it was worth it and thats when I found Jim Deeming. I signed up and I was back on track. Im trying to find other thumpickers in my local area to get together with and jam once a month or so. I started the Delmarva Thumbpickers for this reason. Message me if youre intrested. | |

| The Martin D-18 was my grand fathers and it was left to me when he passed away. I had it sent off at which time I got the neck reset to lower the action which made it much easier to play. The Washburn that i have was my first guitar and the one I played while in the US Navy. The Washburn has been to the Persian Gulf, Somilia and many other places in the world. The Breedlove I bought for finger style and its the guitar I play the most. I would like to play the Martin more but I dont want to use alternate tunings on it because of it's age. I figured it's been in standard tuning for 60 years so It might not like the change. | |
