James Malone

Worship Depraved

From the album A Celebration Of Guilt, released in 2005, comes this technical melodic deathmetal masterpiece. Take note that James is known for improvising. Consequently, the rendition of the song in this lesson might not match exactly what you hear on the record. To play along with this lesson, de-tune each of your guitar strings a full step. Also take special note that James refers to notes on the fretboard as if the guitar were in standard tuning.

Great lesson, James Malone is awesome! The only thing that would have made it better would have been if he went into a bit more detail with the thought process behind the harmonies for the main/intro riff. Its kind of a staple of Arsis's sound and is alot more than just harmonizing with thirds, not many other bands have 2 guitars playing off each other quite like that at all so it would be great if he talked abit about it.

AaronMillerAaronMiller replied on October 23rd, 2010

I agree. I think those different guitar parts really add alot to the song. James did a lesson on writing so look for that to be up in the next few weeks.

shredguitarmatthewshredguitarmatthew replied on October 23rd, 2010

Hey one thing I was wondering is would it be possible to release just the drum tracks for songs like this put up on the site? It would be great to jam along to just the backing like that, or does this lead to potential copyright problems? Thanks.

AaronMillerAaronMiller replied on October 23rd, 2010

I will see what I can do.

shredguitarmatthewshredguitarmatthew replied on October 25th, 2010

Thanks man, having just the drum track to jam to would be really really great!
