The Full Minor Scale

David MacKenzie is back in your face with another epic guitar lesson. In a previous beginner lesson he introduced a basic 3 string version of the minor scale. Now he's back with a vengeance in lesson 26 which covers the full 6-string minor scale pattern. Enjoy the lesson and practice, practice, practice!

As a special side note I would also like to add that this is the first lesson edited fully by the newest member to the JamPlay staff, Jason Mounce. Please watch this lesson and let Jason know how he did. Welcome Jason!

Nick Greathouse: Speed and Technique - Series Intro and Lesson 1!

We are very proud to present Mr. Greathouse in his own Phase 2 lesson series: Speed and Technique. This series aims to improve your overall dexterity, strength, and synchronization of your left and right hand. Using a dizzying array of exercises, Nick uses the techniques of alternate picking, sweep picking, and advanced legato playing to improve your speed and accuracy through repetitive practice.

As the lessons progress, the techniques and exercises will become more advanced. If you are looking to tighten up your playing and take it to a new level, than this is the series for you.

In his first lesson, Nick introduces his series and gets it rolling with Alternate Picking Part 1. This lesson includes fifteen different alternate picking exercises using only one string and three different fret positions. Along with a demo of each exercise, Nick shows you how to practice them to maximize your results. This lesson will be the foundation and starting point for more lessons based on alternate picking.
