Lesson 21 of his Matt's rock guitar series begins the discussion and demonstration of the harmonic minor scale and tonality. This scale features the raised 7th leading tone of the major scale with the minor scale tonality. Often referred to as the middle eastern, or Arabian scale, it's sound is quite unique.
