Date: February 20th, 2008 | Length: 1.55 | Instructor: Dennis Hodges

Brianm579 asks, "It is easier for me to play the D Major chord with my 1 finger on the first string (second fret), my 2 finger on the third string (second fret), and my 3 finger on the second string (third fret). The instruction and chord charts show it slightly different, with the 1 and 2 fingers switched from how I do it. Is there any problem with playing it the way I do? I have found it makes it easier with some chord changes. I am concerned that down the road it could cause problems as I learn more." Zlyman asks, "Hello Everyone, I recently saw a video of Newton Faulkner playing 'I Need Something', I'm struggling to understand how he continues to play the intro on the neck for as long as he does - is it just because he is hitting the strings so hard and it's plugged inot an amp? The link is here: http://www.newtonfaulkner.com/gb/home/ Bit advanced for me at the moment, but I'd love to have a go at some point. Thanks Simon" View Response

Stevenstratt asked "Hey guys. I Have a custom made guitar. It was made by stevens stringed instruments. They are no longer around unfortunately. It is a fender strat copy with a schuller made floyd rose tremolo system. It has 3 seymour duncan pickups. It is the most comfortable guitar I've ever played. I use dean markley blue steel regular strings. I've had the guitar tuned by professionals but it doesn't seem to hold it's intonation very well. Maybe it's the strings. I also have a les paul with the same problem. I've played on friends guitars with the same problem. How do you get a guitar to have a perfect pitch. Thanks. I hope this is a video response question." Walking Bass Lines and Speed - December 9th, 2008 (3 minutes, 51 seconds)
Ambcons asked "For Steve Eulberg, I've found very hard to improve my bass line (Level 2). What is the best way to practice? I'm trying it with metronome (slowww time) with a "pick"(is it right?) and without it (only with my right hand). It's also difficult to know the timing to do the walking bass and remain synchronized with metronome in a 4/4 time after changing to the next chord." View Response
Metronome Use and Strumming - December 3rd, 2008 (3 minutes, 29 seconds)
Felipe asked "This question is for Mark Lincoln how can I use the metronome with down down up down strumming or down up strumming? I have problems with my rhythm, can help me the metronome? Thank you. Felipe." View Response
Master of Puppets Solo - November 5th, 2008 (5 minutes, 18 seconds)
Fenderboy writes: "Hi, I'm working on Metallica's Master of puppets solo 2. When it starts, there are some really fast notes on it. I don't really get it how to do this. When I play it, there is limitation of speed. I think there might be a special fingering. Please please give me some tips about this solo... Have a great day!! :)" View Response
