Help With Barre Chords - January 8th, 2008 (1 minutes, 45 seconds)
LipstickManiact says, "I have problems with barre chords. Just can't find the right position of my 1st finger. For example...if i play D major barre (C shape) 3rd string doesn't play and I have a similar problem with other chords. I can't understand and find the right position. I didn't find answer in lessons, because teachers just say lay down your 1st finger below the fret. Please help..just show me what to do with 1st finger exactly." View Response
Proper Holding Technique for Women - May 19th, 2007 (1 minutes, 43 seconds)
To paraphrase WitchBlade's original inquiry: "I often have trouble holding the guitar properly as instructed by Steve because of my large breasts. Any advice?" View Response
- August 28th, 2008 (6 minutes, 10 seconds)
Stevenstratt asked "Hey guys. I Have a custom made guitar. It was made by stevens stringed instruments. They are no longer around unfortunately. It is a fender strat copy with a schuller made floyd rose tremolo system. It has 3 seymour duncan pickups. It is the most comfortable guitar I've ever played. I use dean markley blue steel regular strings. I've had the guitar tuned by professionals but it doesn't seem to hold it's intonation very well. Maybe it's the strings. I also have a les paul with the same problem. I've played on friends guitars with the same problem. How do you get a guitar to have a perfect pitch. Thanks. I hope this is a video response question." Rhythm & Treble - May 26th, 2008 (3 minutes, 22 seconds)
Mingofalls asks, "I have been experimenting with my Les Paul Standard electric guitar, and I know not all guitars are set up the same way, however, I'm wanting to know more about my 3 way Rhythm & Treble switch. When do you use Rhythm, and when do you use Treble? I have 4 knobs, two that controls the front pick ups volume and tone, and the other two for the rear pick up volume and tone. I'm confused on how to set these up when playing, when to use which one, etc... Could you shed some light on this subject? Thanks." View Response
Bending Strings - September 10th, 2007 (3 minutes, 13 seconds)
ChipC asks "Really like your lessons, I have a question on bending. I watched your lesson, are you rotating your wrist and keeping your fingers locked in to bend the string or are you pushing the string up with your fingers, when you were doing the 7th fret, 3rd string bends...I think I read somewhere that you were suppose to twist the wrist somehow or use the wrist to create the bend...but I'm not sure and wanted to get the word from you."
