Bellying - November 22nd, 2008 (1 minutes, 30 seconds)Floorshaker asked "Hi guys! First of all thank you from England, UK, for a fabulous website. It really is great and Steve Eulberg is the best teacher I could imagine having. Second, I have just treated myself to a Martin HD-28P and it has a certain amount of bellying below the bridge. I was told that this was something to be expected on a 20-year-old Martin but should I just keep an eye on it, get it checked regularly by a luthier or get it sorted out straight away? I have heard that Martins are prone to this, but how much bellying is acceptable and when should I start to panic? Thanks, and keep up the great work. Chris." It was just too big for me, and I remember in one of the instructionals the instructor said to be comfortable with your guitar. So tonight I went out and bought a new guitar...it was not the one I wanted (could not afford the one I wanted...Martin 000XE). I ended up buying a Martin LXM travel guitar. It's very small, but for some reason it feels much better when I play. My question is, will this hurt me in the long run playing a smaller size guitar? Lets say I save enough to buy a Martin X series in a regular size, will I have problems converting from the small LXM to the larger scale X series. Thank you for your help. I got the Rocktron Banshee, but not the Banshee 2, just the first one. I hooked it up, turned it on, and...it didn't interact with my guitar at all. Do i absolutely NEED a mic to use it? If not, what do i do? Thanks for helping out a desperate guitarist!" View ResponsePentatonic Scale Advise - April 25th, 2007 (3 minutes, 30 seconds)KevinAce asks "What is the pentatonic scale? How is it used?" Aaron takes you through a brief over view of the scale & how you can modify it to get some pretty cool riffs.
