Nrm3304 wrote "I've been playing guitar for about 6 months now. I started out with an acoustiuc and then bought an electric. I find myself playing the acoustic more. I will learn new stuff on the acoustic, but I find it hard to play on the electric. I'm mostly having strumming issues. I don't know what to do. I like playing both guitars. Do you have any suggestions to make the electric easier to play?" Another benefit of being a member of JamPlay is the video response section. Unintentional Pull-offs - June 7th, 2007 (1 minutes, 35 seconds)
Vjludovico says "Hey guys, I just joined the site very recently. I'm doing Steve's lessons and starting from the beginning. It's only been about a week since I've picked up a guitar for the first time and my calluses are finally starting to form. However I have one problem that I thought would clear itself up once my fingertips started to harden, and that's when I lift my fingers off the strings to change chords or even stop playing I seem to perform a pull off. I lift my fingers directly off the string, and I've tried to lift them off in different ways (I'm not pulling the string or bending it) but I can't seem to stop this problem. Any suggestions?" Shredding - December 3rd, 2008 (4 minutes, 00 seconds)
Madguitar16 asked "Madguitar16 asked "Hi guys... basically my problem's like this: though ive been practicing for some time, my right hand will simply not move fast enough to really shred. my left hands doing fine, but with a fast left hand and slow right, it obviously wont work out. jim kindly advised me to play with a metronome and advance faster and faster once ure fluent on wtvr number it is... its a great idea and im working on it. but even better would be if you could give me some excercies to play with the metronome that can really spice up my practicing, and get me that much closer to shredding like a pro! thanks for all ur lessons guys... there really helping me! madguitar." thumb pick technique - May 5th, 2008 (1 minutes, 35 seconds)
Greeno asks, "Jim, I've noticed in some of the songs that you play that you use an upstroke with the thumb pick and it gives the riff an additional sense of syncopation. I'm having some problems with that and wonder if you could share any excercises that would improve my ability to do that. Great lessons BTW. Thanks. greeno" View Response
