acoustic electric vs. acoustic - May 6th, 2008 (1 minutes, 34 seconds)Avalvira asks, "First of all, I'm a beginner. I own a Breedlove Atlas AC25 acoustic steel string guitar. I'm in the market for a nylon string guitar. I was wondering if there was any benefit in getting an electric one. Realistically, I don't plan on plugging it in anytime in the future, but I think the built-in tuner is very convenient. Does it add $$ on the price of the guitar? In other words, would the same guitar be cheaper if it didn't have the built in tuner/equalizer? I hope that question/s made sense. I'd appreciate any insight or advice you may have. By the way, I'm loving the lessons on your sight. Thanks!! I would like to learn lead. What would you say would be the best way to start? I am now trying to learn to read tablatures, but there are a lot of terms that I don´t know what do they mean ( Riff, Fill, etc), about this, is there any lesson regarding how to read the tablature? Thank you very much. Regards Lue" View ResponseBarre Chords - February 17th, 2007 (5 minutes, 11 seconds)KKringle wrote in and asked about barre chords. She wanted to know if playing and learning them was easier on the guitar and if her hands were cut out for playing the guitar. First, I have a simple guitar,a peavey predator and a peavey backstage amp(a small transtube amp). I have been playing seriously for about 2 months.I am between beginner and intermediate. My guitar has a floyd rose double locking tremelo whammy bar system, but I don't have a wammy bar. At my skill level , could I use a whammy bar and where could I buy one? also what would be a good price for one? Also my amp has overdrive, but i want more.
