Date: June 12th, 2009 | Length: 5.35 | Instructor: David MacKenzie

Landshark asked "I just bought an Ibanez ARX320 from my local guitar shop. It played nice while I was in the store, but after a week, I am getting fret buzz along the entire neck and when I play the 9th fret on the 1st string, the note sounds dead or heavily muted. Also, on the 15th fret of the 1st string, whenever I bend the note, it immediately goes dead. What could be causing these issues? I'm about to return this thing to the store." Bending Strings - September 7th, 2007 (2 minutes, 10 seconds)
Chipc asks "Brad, Really like your lessons, I have a question on bending. I watched your lesson, are you rotating your wrist and keeping your fingers locked in to bend the string or are you pushing the string up with your fingers, when you were doing the 7th fret, 3rd string bends...I think I read somewhere that you were suppose to twist the wrist somehow or use the wrist to create the bend...but I'm not sure and wanted to get the word from you. Sincerely, Chip Carter." View Response
Quick Question - March 10th, 2008 (3 minutes, 24 seconds)
Jimmycrowder asks, "Quick question... Do I need to learn to read Notation as a guitarist? I am new to guitar and I am praticing to play in a praise and worship band at church. They play mostly pop and rock songs. They just use a sheet of paper with the chords on top of the verses... Also, could you please recommend a good practice routine? I can play about 1 hour a day " View Response
Guitar Feedback Problems - June 9th, 2008 (3 minutes, 12 seconds)
JamPlay.com member wupnride asks: I play an Epiphone Zakk Wylde , an Epiphone custom and a strat style ESP.All have the active EMG humbuckers.I used to play through a Randall solid stae head but now I am using an EVH 5150 head and my feedback is just out of control. The only pedals that I use are a BBE Sonic Maximizer,Boss Chorus,Boss Noise suppressor, and a Planet WAves tuner. I have even tried cutting back on my amp volume and increasing my sound at the board.I have also tried cutting back on the volume at my guitar. Are there any pedals or rack mounted effects that can reduce my feed back?I really could use some good advice on this one. Thanks View Response
Metronome VS Drum machine - January 8th, 2008 (2 minutes, 57 seconds)
Papo says, "I was contemplating buying either a metronome or a drum machine. Don't they basically serve the same function? I was thinking I would get more use out of the drum machine. Should I buy them separately? Thanks for your advice." View Response
