Difficulties Learning Chords - January 8th, 2008 (1 minutes, 45 seconds)Mplourde asks ,"Why is everything so hard? I can't even get past the stupid b minor chord!" View ResponsePlaying Metal Lead - October 8th, 2008 (6 minutes, 47 seconds)Akelley asked "Im sorry if you got my other form of this question first but i just saw the other Q and A solo questions and that brought attention to me. in the three videos you guys just talk about solo stuff. can you show some moe techniques and things like that. im in a metal band and have no clue how to write a true metal solo. what key of what scale should I play, or maybe what arpeggios?" View ResponseScales and Improvisation - October 10th, 2007 (2 minutes, 43 seconds)KevinT says, "HI, I checked out Brads scales lesson and have a question. I always warm up with minor pentatonic 1st position so I know it blindfolded, I am working on the others. My question is that when I just start messing around with improv it always ends up still sounding like scales. How do I get away from that? Thanks" View ResponsePlaying Upstrokes - February 3rd, 2009 (1 minutes, 28 seconds)Lucasholland asked "Hello, is it necessary to strike all the strings belonging to a chord when doing an upstroke? I read somewhere that only the treble strings have to be played when doing upstrokes (and all of the strings for downstrokes). Is that correct or do all of the strings that belong to a chord have to be strummed when doing an upstroke? Thanks and keep up the excellent work, Lucas." View ResponseFinger Positioning - March 21st, 2008 (2 minutes, 11 seconds)Fairchildj asks, "I have just recently began with Phase I of training. One issue that I am having is that I find placing my fingers in the right frets extremely difficult for my middle two fingers. My fingers curl on each other a bit 3rd finger overlapping the 4th finger...so when I place them on the frets, the 3rd finger wants to poing back towards the 2nd fret instead of where it should be on the 3rd fret. By sliding my hand a bit, I can overcome this but I don't want to pick up a bad habit that will limit my advancement in the future...any recommendations?" View Response
