Date: July 16th, 2009 | Length: 5.53 | Instructor: Jim Deeming

Matej asked "How do I properly adjust the truss rod of my electric guitar? I have no bow / gap between the top of a fret and the string when I check my neck relief, so I get nasty fret buzz on the open positions of the first two strings ( string action is not the problem here ). One more thing, I have a two way truss rod :o. Not in the question: David MacKenzie could best answer my question as he has an ESP guitar like me." Sheet Music and Songs - June 12th, 2009 (6 minutes, 20 seconds)
Lazyeye asked "I have listened to the lessons and have not been able to get the sheet music with its chords, melody and lyrics to the guitar so that the song sounds like what is on the sheet music. Example: The song I just called to say I love you by Stevie Wonder. I have the lyrics and the chords and when I listen to some one play it, it doesn't sound at all like what I play. Need help. I need to see and learn how that process of getting the information off of the sheet music on to the guitar works." View Response
Fingerpicking Technique - August 14th, 2009 (5 minutes, 44 seconds)
Ablazich323 asked "Hey guys, I've been going through Mark's lessons for the past few months and those lessons are mostly (if not all) about rhythm guitar and using a pick. However, i do want to expand my playing and i have tried to sorta teach myself how to finger pick but it isn't working out too well. Any advice that you can give me with finger picking and also are there any specific few lessons i can look at to give me some insight? Appreciate all the help." View Response
Sweeping Arpeggios - September 19th, 2007 (2 minutes, 27 seconds)
Billy asks "I have been trying these for about a year now and I just can't seem to nail them. Are their any exercises for both hands that will make it more easier. It seems that my left hand has the most problems." View Response
Learning From Tabs - February 3rd, 2009 (2 minutes, 45 seconds)
Lucasholland asked "Hello, my question is on learning songs from TABs. I'm trying to play this simple song: http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/tabs/j/john_mayer/little_red_corvette_tab.htm I'm struggling with the chorus. I just don't know how to do it. It says I'm supposed to play the low E on the 3rd fret, the A string on the 5th fret and the D string on the 7th fret. That is a huge stretch that I doubt is possible to do. How would I fret that first chord? So my question is really 2 questions: 1. How do I fret the chord in "Little Red Corvette"? 2. How do I figure out chord fingerings from TABs in general? Thanks! Lucas." View Response
