10 Week Strumming Workshop

Live Lesson Every Wednesday for 10 Weeks

Ten whole weeks on strumming? Is there really that much to cover? YES! ...And you will be strumming for your whole guitar playing life so getting started in the right ways is going to be crucial to your enjoyment and success with your guitar playing! For beginner and intermediate guitar players, strumming is one of those techniques that can feel and sound SO awkward if you do not know how to approach it. The default bent for most players is to simply listen to songs they like or pick up a songbook and try to duplicate what they are hearing. This often doesn't work so well because guitarists have missed a KEY step when it comes to finding and developing their own natural sense of timing and rhythm.

Week 2 - The Human Metronome

Oct 21st at 8:00pm EST

Before we start learning any specific rhythm patterns, we need to establish what makes great rhythm truly tick. (Pardon the pun) Believe it or not, our strumming arm can act as our time keeper and groove feeler. It is REALLY important to master this concept and adopt this perspective before trying to emulate your favorite strumming sounds. Why? Because all great rhythm playing has this concept running in the background! We're going to figure this out and then apply it to the rhythms we worked on last week.
