I am fully self taught and have been playing for over 20 years, and have been in many bands but have become stagnant and complacent in my learning and improvement. I know there are a lot of skills that I can improve on, and knowledge that I can expand. It's difficult to find the motivation to improve when you reach a competent level of playing. I find that I tend to just avoid the things that I am not strong at and rely on the skills that I am most comfortable with instead of challenging myself
