I have a good bit of knowledge and little usefulness to it. I expect there is a lack of practice that causes this. I am not sure I will ever be very fast, but again practice makes perfect. I would really like to jam along with just about anyone else in what ever style they are using. I have a good command of the First Box of Blues but that is about all I have that is useful. I can muddle through the Major scale (do,re, me, fa...) I wanna play in my church band. I have two Electrics (1962 Fender Musicmaster and a custom "I built it myself" in the style a a Gibson Paul with a bolt on but it looks like an ovation) and 3 Acoustics (Yamaha 12 string, Fender 6 and a Taylor 6) I play rhythm pretty well and know lots of chords. I can switch chords with the best of them but want to learn to play lead. Hope this helps, God Bless, Andy |

I play rhythm pretty well and know lots of chords. I can switch chords with the best of them but want to learn to play lead. I play worship music mainly with my church (in the church band.) I also sing. I started playing the 12 string after I figured out that I could tune a guitar by ear (for a friend who played and couldn't.) I can generally hear what chords to play when I am playing with others to music I am not familiar with. Yeah, I stink at playing electric, I am just beginning, I can do the First Box position of the Blues Pentatonic scale. |
