hi , I,ve been full of music since I could sing .started playing guitar in 1964,back then the guitar boogie and the ventures were hot stuff so I learned all of that stuff .when I was 22, I got a job playing bass with a country group. I played in 3 groups in 3 years, bass, rythym, and lead .but I realized I wasn,t getting rich so I had to stop playing in bands and concentrate on work cause I got married and had to work. so for 35 years I worked and raised my family, now, I am 69 years old. like david grissiam said " old and grey but love to play, and I have some friends who jam once a week and they are mostly into irish stuff a little scotch, and bluegrass. I also play the mandolin , so what I learn on guitar I can generaly pick up on the mandolin.. thanks...

when I started playing like I said I learned all of the popular instrumentals, I have had no musical instruction, in my life all my playing I learned by ear, then in 2007 I bought a mandolin and I bought lessons from homespun. steve kaufman ,s mandolin lessons. tunes every parking lot picker should know, and from this I discovered flat picking, up down...lol so I did my best to stick to his instruction on up down, starting slow and gradually playing the tune through,at first I couldn,t hold unto the pick, I had broken my wrist 30 some years back and it caused me great pain but now since I wouldn,t quit I am doing good. now I think I am ready for another challenge, playing irish tunes flat picking on the guitar...thanks.
