I am a steel fabricator, fitter/welder, by trade, an Iron worker. I have been a lot of other things through the years but this has been my work for at least 15 years, maybe more.

I taught myself in the late 70's to play using chord books and songs books with chord diagrams. I would sing and find the chord that would fit from the book. This was slow and hard, and their was so much I could not learn and did not know that I needed to learn, I just knew something was missing..

I ended up playing a method, since I had no band, of finger picking but with a pick.

In the late 90's I cut the tendons and ligaments in my left thumb with a grinder. When I tried to play after that my thumb would go numb, especially with bar chords, so I ended up just hanging up the guitar for so long and losing all I had learned.

I started using performance tracks to sing. and that is what I have used for a long time now. Something was missing, though, and that was my guitar. Both of them. Nothing takes the place of playing your own music, even without a band or others to play with..

I am having to start over with the basics because everything was lost, finger strength, speed, and muscle memory. It has been too long, and besides their was so much I needed to learn in the first place.

So far, no further than I have gone, I have learned a lot from JamPlay. And I am expecting to learn a lot more.
