I'm a 64 year old man getting ready to retire in a couple of years. Like many people, I've always loved music. I started out in high school playing the trumpet then switched over to the drums and then the bass in my 20's. Being a teenager throughout the 60's rock-n-roll was a big part of our lives. Over the years I've learned to appreciate many other forms or styles of music and have always wanted to learn to play the guitar. Over the past 20 years I have, unfortunately, got away from music in general, I know it has to do with my career, ironically I work 12 hour night shifts in the field of Sleep Disorders and have to try and sleep during the day. As I head into the last chapters of my life, I want to learn to play the guitar and bring music back into my life. The many life experiences (or scar tissue if you will) that I've accumulated over the years, seem to be beckoning me to tell my story in some way. So I figured music and learning to play the guitar would be an awesome way to express that. |
