| I am returning to Jampay again with renewed enthusiam and delight. I first learnt classical guitar at school years ago and in 2007 I bought myself a guitar because I was given a bonus from work for 20 years service. I left fulltime work in 2008. The last 11 years have been fantastic. I returned to dancing and performing. I found Jamplay, enjoyed the lessons and gained confidence. I improved a lot thanks to Steve Eulberg .I also improved playing classical spanish guitar and enjoyed learning Blues with Hawkeye. In 2010 I started a work-based doctorate, graduating in December 2017. The title was "Active Older People Participating in Creative Dance - Challenging Perceptions". In the final completion of my dctorate I had to drop guitar playing and other activities to concentrate on completing it. Also in February 2017 I had breast cancer and, had treatment. During 2018 I kept my Jamplay membership going because it is such a good learing tool and supportive community and I thought I would start playing guitar again but it was a difficult year recovering and hospita;visits. Now in 2019 I am in a transition entering the next stage of my life. I am so delilghted to be returning to more creative activities and here I am back at Jamplay, ready to learn more and gain strength and confidence so I can recommence playing guitar again and improving. | I am returning to Jamplay. See my profile. I am so delighted that I now have more time to do creative activities again. I hope to refresh and revise my playing my learning with Steve E and Hawkeye and take advantage of all Jamplay now has to offer. I am so excited to have the time. motivation and energy to pick up my two guitars again!! I look forward to gaining more competence and enjoyment from playing again. Well my good intentions in 2019 did not last long. Perhaps because I seem to be getting further side effects from the chemo and radiotherapy and also was rehearsing a dance performance towards the end of the year and then got bad flu symptoms that lasted for weeks. Now it is lockdown! in London and so I am sorting out new priorities and so here I am back at Jamplay again. I feel at the moment as it I am starting all over again, but I am sure all learnt before weill come flowing back once I get started. So here goes.................................. | |
