I would like to become a good intermediate player able to use the entire fretboard and maybe someday get good enough to play with my praise team band. I have one disadvantage. I have a profound hearing loss, but can still hear the music, so I need an instructor who speaks clearly and not real fast as some of the younger people do, if you know what I mean. |

Started playing when I was 12 (just basic chords). Played for about 4 years. Got away from it for quite a few years. Picked it up again around 2005. Took some private lessons but it became too expensive so I had to quit. I mostly play country and country Gospel. Can read tabs and beginner at music notation. Just started some fretboard theory and barre chords. Because of my hearing loss I have trouble sometimes at keeping time with backing tracks. I haven't played much in the past couple of months. Most of my playing has been for my own enjoyment, but once in a while when my Pastor wants to add some country flavor to the praise team band they ask me to play a song or two with them. I would someday like to be able to play their brand of the new praise music and join them, but don't want to lose my country roots, if you know what I mean. |
