Retired Software Engineer, Amateur instrument maker/luthier and woodworker.

I have been building and restoring instruments, doing occasional furniture construction, repair and restoration, and sometimes even home improvements now for many years. I blog about these things at Confessions of an Amateur Luthier.

I spend much too much time building, and not enough time trying to learn to play! But lately that is changing and now I’m actually spending time playing every day.
In a Band: No
Skill Level: Beginner
Guitar(s): Epiphone ES-339 Semi Hollow Electric, Fender Squier Affinity Tele (Hotrodded: Dragonfire Tele Texas Blues Pickups, Art of Tone Deluxe Tele 4-way wiring), Epiphone Wine Red Les Paul Studio, Epiphone SG-400, Epiphone EJ-160e Acoustic, Yamaha C40 Classical
Amplifer(s): Vox V9158 Pathfinder 15 Combo, Vox MINI3 Modeling Amp
I need a structured approach. I've dabbled with the guitar (mostly) off and on for years, but I really don't know very much beyond a few chords and one or two scales and few riffs. I need to get serious here!
