I want to be able to play along with worship team. We don't have a guitar player. I want to learn to use a pick. I am left-hand but play right. I am 69 and just want to fulfil what my father always wanted to do but just was never able to complete for whatever reason. He picked but I don't believe he played like he wanted. And...I just want to learn for myself. It's on my bucket list. I play trumpet and have a fairly gook knowledge of music theory. Going from just worrying about three valves to multi-tasking on a guitar is way different. I have been teaching myself for 2.5 years but I am stuck because I have no structure to my learning. I live away from a metro city. No teachers are available. Maybe I can teach my great-grand kids. Sorry, didn't mean to write such a long response. At the end of this year's subscription I want to be able to play different chords progression and be able to figure out what the progression would be. When I get together with my brothers or just a group, I want to be to join in.

I started with trumpet in 5th grade and played all the way through high school. Played in the ROTC band in college and then stopped for 30 years. Took it up again maybe ten years ago and decided to learn guitar, seriously, 2.5 years ago. I sing with my church's worship team. I would like to bring in a guitar to the group. There's only 7 old guys and gals. I tinker with learning music theory and I have taught myself much.
