started on a yamaha classical that my sister had and learned to play sound of silence with finger picking and no bar chords at around 12 years old. Brother had an old gibson amp and a 12 string gibson hummingbird acoustic with an in hole pickup . he advised me my hands were too small to play guitar. Fucker Picked up a bit of playing on cheap classical guitars again at 16 at 21 , in the air force got an ibanez artist with beautiful figured top. couldn't make it sound like the band at the USO with my cheap solid state amp and no pedals....no knowledge of power chords or fifths or fourths.....traded a 60s fender 12 string electric that I'd love to have back now. Probably worth bucks. Took a "get you guitar sound" through online courses at...Berklee paid for by boeing, thank you very much...too much pressure at the end of a busy day....pass the course or you pay 1200 bucks. also music production on Logic.....lets learn computers as we go! argh! learned a bit about how the sounds were formed...also a critical listening course wich opened my ears...hearing steely dan, sting, cannonball adderly, miles davis and other well recorded artists |
