You have some lessons on pedals. I am wondering what pedal(s) or amps you use to get that fuzzy distorted sound here? Do you use the same sound for the horns? Are there other sounds you considered might be good for horns?

hpicothpicot replied on January 22nd, 2013

Hi Chris, Is it possible to get the bass score you use on the track? Sometimes it is nice to see what the bass is doing, for those of us trying to put all the pieces together. thanks.

hpicothpicot replied on December 26th, 2012

Can you tell us what effects you are using? In another forum I saw a guy rant for about an hour (I just watched five minutes), "It's all in your fingers; only a moron asks about the set up." but Steve Cropper disagrees, the equipment does matter, or we would all play Gibson L-5's with no amp. If we had $10,000, that is. Most of it is in the fingers and maybe all of Howard Roberts, but not all we listen to.

I've always wondered who was buying this guy's music.

could you upload a backing track with vocals & no guitar ?

Chris.LiepeChris.Liepe replied on December 3rd, 2012

done!

wzupgeewzupgee replied on December 14th, 2012

How about a backing track without the rythym portion only?

Chris.LiepeChris.Liepe replied on December 17th, 2012

check out the "no guitars" version. Unless I'm misunderstanding your request, this sounds like what you're after. Also, there isn't a version of the backing track that includes the solo as that was performed live on the video lesson.

About Chris Liepe View Full Biography Chris Liepe was born on September 17th, 1981 in Portland OR. His first instrument was piano which he pursued until discovering his love for the electric guitar in high school. He became fans of such groups as Soundgarden, Collective Soul and U2 inspiring him to start singing, songwriting and helping others in their musical endeavors with teaching, co-writing and album production.

Having moved to Colorado with his family, he began gigging, recording and teaching in a number of music stores as well as out of his apartment until deciding to pursue music full time. He moved to Denver, CO to complete a Bachelors in Music Technology and was then hired on by Sweetwater Productions, a division of Sweetwater Sound and one of the largest, most successful recording studios in the Midwest.

Chris spent nearly 4 years at Sweetwater as a producer, recording engineer, studio musician and writer. During this time he had the privilege of working with many artists including Augustana, Landon Pigg, Jars of Clay, and Mercy Me. He also wrote for and played on numerous independent albums and hundreds of radio/TV commercials.

Wanting to get back to his favorite State in the world (Colorado) and feeling the urge to 'go freelance', Chris moved to Greeley, CO and opened his own recording and teaching studio. He continues to write and produce music for artists and agencies and is happy to be among the proud JamPlay.com instructors.
