I took a few early lessons with a friend who attended Berkley in Boston. He was going a bit too quickly for me, so I took what I learned and found a few, free online courses. I have been using justinguitar.com for a few years. I like Justin's style of teaching, but I'd like a bit more structure and structured practice. I can play open chords, the primary barre chords (6th and 5th string roots) in both E shape and A shape (somewhat). I can play some Jimmy Buffet, basic country, Van Morrison, etc. I would like to perfect my open/barre chord playing ala rhythm guitar. Following this, I'd like to practice some scales, and then learn to read/play from TAB, followed by finger picking. I'm just not sure what the best order is, and I'm sure I can learn various techniques to improve. I only have a few basic strums under my fingers, so could use help with expanding my strumming technique as well. My ultimate goals is to be become a solid intermediate guitar player. |
