Playing While Standing - February 2nd, 2009 (3 minutes, 32 seconds)Hcso asked "Instructors, My question may sound a little dumb but I've been playing and practicing the guitar long enough in the sitting position, that when I stand up with it everything is off. I'm hitting the wrong strings and not finding my power chords like I can from the sitting position. This is very frustrating. Has anybody else had this problem. Do I need a strap that brings the guitar closer to me? I don't know what else it would be. Any help is welcome Josh." View ResponsePlaying With Backing Tracks - February 5th, 2008 (5 minutes, 27 seconds)Garfield asks, "This might be a dumb question but how does one learn to play along with the backing tracks? Thanks" View ResponseCallus - April 22nd, 2008 (3 minutes, 49 seconds)Jdemail78 says, "I've been taking Steve's lessons for the past month and during the first week, my finger tips hurt each day I played but I kept on playing because I knew that eventually I'd build up callus on the ends of my fingers and the pain would go away. Sure enough, that happened for the most part but recently they've been starting to hurt again. Not as much when I'm done playing, more when I start playing. After I play for a little while, the pain goes away (like a numb sorta feeling) and then by the time I'm done, they are hurting again. I guess what I'm wondering is how long does this go on for? I can tell that I have callus on my fingers but some of the pain is still there. Does it ever go away completely or do you eventually just get used to it? Thanks." If so what is the best way to apply it. Should I put it on while I have the G string on? Or should I apply it before I put my G string on? Sylvia" View ResponseBluegrass and Chords - April 26th, 2007 (1 minutes, 30 seconds)Jebo asks: "I was wondering how you can take a chord, just a regular sounding one, and give it a "bluegrassy" feel. I am trying to play tab from bluegrass songs but it doesn't sound like Bluegrass at all." View Response
