Guitar Feedback Problems - June 9th, 2008 (3 minutes, 12 seconds)JamPlay.com member wupnride asks: I play an Epiphone Zakk Wylde , an Epiphone custom and a strat style ESP.All have the active EMG humbuckers.I used to play through a Randall solid stae head but now I am using an EVH 5150 head and my feedback is just out of control. The only pedals that I use are a BBE Sonic Maximizer,Boss Chorus,Boss Noise suppressor, and a Planet WAves tuner. I have even tried cutting back on my amp volume and increasing my sound at the board.I have also tried cutting back on the volume at my guitar. Are there any pedals or rack mounted effects that can reduce my feed back?I really could use some good advice on this one. Thanks View ResponseScales - July 9th, 2008 (2 minutes, 11 seconds)sonofazarel asks, "When i practice scales with three notes per string such as the mixolydian position I ascend using my 1st 3rd and 4th fingers, when i descend I use fingers 4, 2 and 1. Is this going to come back and haunt me, should i push myself to use the same fingers both ways?" It's not the tuning, it is that I do not know when I strum the strings with my right hand when I work the fret board with my left. Do I put my finger down on the fret board then strum with my right hand or strum with my right hand and then put my work my fingers with the fret board?" View ResponseThumb Independence - April 30th, 2008 (2 minutes, 38 seconds)KenStyle asks, "How much is the thumb really independent during fingerstyle and how much of it is super coordination with the right hand? thanks in advance!!! Love the lessons" View ResponseUsing a Capo - August 28th, 2009 (5 minutes, 50 seconds)Rwolfe asked "Hello jamplay! I just joined and am very impressed with the site. My question deals with using the capo. I play sometimes with two other guitarists and it can get boring if we are all playing the same chords open on the guitar. I have been told that 3 different guitarists can capo at different spots so that each guitar has its own voice, say in a G-D-C progression. Maybe one guitar is open, and the other two have capos. Thanks again for a great website." View Response
