Mingofalls asks, "Is there any particular reason why the frets on the neck of the guitar are larger near the tuning pegs, and frets get much smaller as their going towards the body of the guitar. Also, are most guitars pretty much the same when it come to the 'number' of frets, or are their guitars with many more frets than the standard guitar? This is such a cool site, and I appreciate everyone's input. Thanks, Crisco" Another benefit of being a member of JamPlay is the video response section. Metronome VS Drum machine - January 8th, 2008 (2 minutes, 57 seconds)
Papo says, "I was contemplating buying either a metronome or a drum machine. Don't they basically serve the same function? I was thinking I would get more use out of the drum machine. Should I buy them separately? Thanks for your advice." View Response

Hcso asks, "My question is for Brad Henecke, I get the basic idea of the pentatonic and blues scale to where I've memorized it. Trying to make my own solo is difficult. When I watched you in lesson 11 at the end when you were doing a solo you were all over the neck of the guitar. Can you use the theory of playing between the 5th and 8th fret key of A and use that same theory anywhere on the guitar and if so does the key of the pentatonic change? Hope this makes sense. Thanks Josh" View Response
David Mackenzie - February 19th, 2008 (2 minutes, 10 seconds)
Hsco askedm "I'm asking you this question because you seem to know ACDC very well. When I'm playing the beginning riff to highway to hell I'm getting a real bad buzzing or squealing noise when I transition from D to the rock G chord. It's in the beggining of the song, do I need to find a new chord to try to fit it in to the song. I've tried to palm mute and I can still hear it. Josh Alloway." View Response
Learning How to Solo - December 16th, 2008 (4 minutes, 44 seconds)
Ianb63 said "Hi all and thanks to Jamplay for a truly wonderful site. You guys are all amazing. After quite a few years of frustration alot of the theory has started to make sense at last. I know, and understand all twelve key signatures and there relative minor scales. I can play all the scales in five different patterns on the neck. I also know every note on the guitar neck by name. Chord theory makes sense to me and i understand how they are constructed. Modes took a while to get my head round, but i got there in the end. Given all this knowledge you would think i would have no trouble improvising, but in fact i am really struggling. My problem is this. If i concentrate on where i am on the guitar and what i want to play, i lose track of where i am in the chord progression i am following. If however i concentrate on counting the beat, i can keep track of the chords but then i cannot keep my focus on where exactly i am on the neck and it all goes to pieces. Any chance of a lesson to simplify the process and build n on how to up to it in stages....Thanks Ian" View Response
