Video Question:

June 20th, 2008 - Zlyman asks, "Hello Everyone, I recently saw a video of Newton Faulkner playing 'I Need Something', I'm struggling to understand how he continues to play the intro on the neck for as long as he does - is it just because he is hitting the strings so hard and it's plugged inot an amp? The link is here: http://www.newtonfaulkner.com/gb/home/ Bit advanced for me at the moment, but I'd love to have a go at some point. Thanks Simon"

Singing - October 31st, 2007 (1 minutes, 19 seconds)
Maddee asks: "I have been playing for about 5 years now and in all that time I have never been able to sing while playing. I seem to be concentrating on the rhythm, the strumming or what chord comes next. As soon as I open my mouth to sing I lose the rhythm. Do you have any simple exercises for a simple guy that can help in this area? Thanks in advance! Keep the great lessons coming! Maddee" View Response

Djhectichector asks, "I'm currently practicing on backing tracks I've bought and i have noticed on the corresponding chord sheet there are chords such as D/F# etc. How do i work out the notes in that chord? Sorry if this is a bit OTT for my level (Half way through modes) Typical song containing this chord by the way is (Wonderful tonight by Eric Clapton.) I tend to use a D major but it don't sound right. The solo I've got to the tea but D/F# Messes me up. Please Help!" View Response
C Chord Finger Positioning - April 20th, 2007 (5 minutes, 00 seconds)
I am doing good with the G chord, and the D7 watching Steve. For some reason, my meaty sausages are having a hard time with the C chord. My 3rd finger keeps mashing the D, and I cannot get a crip grip on the B..... View Response

Sylvia asks, "Hi Guys. I have this problem with my G-string. It creaks when I tighten it... Do you think I need nut sauce? If so what is the best way to apply it. Should I put it on while I have the G string on? Or should I apply it before I put my G string on? Sylvia" View Response
Learning How to Learn - May 5th, 2008 (5 minutes, 19 seconds)
Oldcrow asks, "I noticed two of the instructors, Steve Eulberg and Jim Deeming, both emphasize goal setting and proper practice. I find myself reviewing their lessons looking for tips on how to learn as much as I do the content of the lessons, themselves. I wonder if someone has some feedback on the task of learning how to learn, what skills one has to develop to be a student of guitar. Thanks, Derrick" View Response
