- July 9th, 2008 (3 minutes, 15 seconds)mingofalls asks, "Hi, I'm trying to learn more on Music theory, and I'm alittle confused on Major scales the way they the notes are set up. Why does the C Major scale have no sharps or flats, Why is there an F# in the G Major scale, and Why is there a Bb in the F Major scale? I'm somewhat confused on this theory! Thanks! Once i have gone over the classes the instructors have, and really picked up on how to play the guitar, other then the obvious anwser of, keep practicing, where do you go from there? Do you just start learning songs, try different things, I don't know. I have learned a lot and I feel right now my guitar learning is at a slow down. I'm just wondering what to really do to get better. Or is the anwser, just keep practicing? My other question, when picking genre's. I am learning a lot from them, but would it be better to learn the finger picking and the speed and accuracy stuff first, then move to genres? Would it make it an easier transition being pretty good at those then learning the actual genres? Sorry for the two questions, love this website, it has helped me a lot. Thanks for all the help." In my area it is cold in the morning and I will sometimes tune my guitar and play for a little relaxation to start my day. Later the temperature will get warmer and I have wondered if I should wait to tune my guitar. I thinking about expansion and contraction and the effect on tuning the guitar. It seems that in the later part of the day I end up having to retune the guitar down to get the proper tuning. Should I wait until the temperature levels out to tune? Thanks for you help...."
