Video Question: Cat Scratch Fever Bend

Return to Video Question and Answer Listings
Date: August 28th, 2008 | Length: 1.02 | Instructor: Brad Henecke

JZCode45 asked "Brad, I have not been able to get that Cat Scratch Fever Bend down at all. It seems like my attempt sound more like stepping on a 15 year old cats paw than getting that Nugget sound you get. Can you give me an idea in detail how to get this sound. Are you using any effects? The rest of the lick is going fine! Thanks....JZ." Another benefit of being a member of JamPlay is the video response section. John Mayer Style picking - October 8th, 2008 (3 minutes, 38 seconds)
Kenstyle asked "I'm curious about John Mayer's technique in this youtube video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPvkSo1itgc&feature=related. He uses his thumb and index finger throughout the song and the net effect of this technique is that it sounds like a strum with a pick. Any help would be great. Thanks! Ken" View Response
A Shaped Barre Chords - October 31st, 2007 (2 minutes, 35 seconds)
Mav67 asks: "I am facing a major obstacle whilst trying to get down these God forsaken A shaped barre chords. My ring finger will not bend at the top knuckle making it impossible to utilise conventional fingering that most other players use. The only way I can get it is to fret an A chord using fingers 2 3 and 4, then using the index finger for the barre. This is uncomfortable and difficult to move in and out of during chord movements. Can any of you please look into your vast vessels of knowledge and shed some guiding light to help me out? Thank you." View Response
Sweeping Arpeggios - September 19th, 2007 (2 minutes, 27 seconds)
Billy asks "I have been trying these for about a year now and I just can't seem to nail them. Are their any exercises for both hands that will make it more easier. It seems that my left hand has the most problems." View Response
