Shredding - December 3rd, 2008 (4 minutes, 00 seconds)
Madguitar16 asked "Madguitar16 asked "Hi guys... basically my problem's like this: though ive been practicing for some time, my right hand will simply not move fast enough to really shred. my left hands doing fine, but with a fast left hand and slow right, it obviously wont work out. jim kindly advised me to play with a metronome and advance faster and faster once ure fluent on wtvr number it is... its a great idea and im working on it. but even better would be if you could give me some excercies to play with the metronome that can really spice up my practicing, and get me that much closer to shredding like a pro! thanks for all ur lessons guys... there really helping me! madguitar." Muting - September 24th, 2008 (4 minutes, 58 seconds)
Ricky54326 asks, "Hey guys. I just started learning some chords, and I can do the ones that are 2-3 fingers like Em, D, G, etc but once I get to like the ones that involve barring and finger independence and the such, like F#m, it gets very hard for me to do them without muting other strings. Sometimes I can't even play ones like D or G without muting my other strings either, any advice for posture? Also should i be memorizing these chords? Or just learning how to play them when i see the chord tablature? Thanks again jamplay and keep up the damn good work :) -Ricky54326" View Response
Curious About Effects Chain - July 16th, 2009 (4 minutes, 46 seconds)
Sheldon_31 asked "Dear to whoever it concerns, I have been really looking into running an effects chain, but i have no idea what stuff to use on it so far i've decided to use a boss overdrive pedal and either Kirk Hammet's signature cry baby or the Dimebag cry baby from hell. I am mainly interested in a nice melodic metal sound possibly just a really filthy textured sound nice and crisp which would be really easy to pinch harmonic on. So any suggestions on what i should use????" View Response
