Setting Neck Without a Truss Rod - May 12th, 2009 (6 minutes, 18 seconds)Niandra asked "Hi guys...i'm not sure whether a question similar to this one has been already asked. I have a '51 Martin 0-15. All in all the guitar is in a nice condition but im not sure whether it would be the right time for a new neck setting. What is an indicator for that? As far as i am informed martins from this age didn't yet have theese/those TrussRods (or how it is spelled-sorry for my english it's beschissen ;-) so in case IF i have to bring it to a professional luthier. Actually i think the playing is very very nice and the spaces between fretboard and strings up to the 12th fret seem normal but im not sure and what do you think would be the "average" price? And bye the way--- can you tell what's up with mr . fishmann's lessons???? Thanks." View ResponseToe Tapping - May 5th, 2008 (3 minutes, 13 seconds)Mark0761 asks, "Hi Jim. How are you? Man,you are an amazing guitarist. Yourself and Steve Eulberg are my two favorite teachers. The two of you are who I have decided to learn from. My passion is acoustic, I got no desire to play electric. I'm a beginer and my question is toe tapping. Before I found you on the website I developed a habit of naturally tapping my heel on the floor for some reason it just felt natural. When I came across you, you said tap your toe on the floor, does it matter which one you tap in rythem ? Your heel or your toes? Also, when do you tap you said on the strumming down tap , do you also do this continually throughout a song or only on the downstroke? Thanks and Confused Mark" View ResponseHow to Find the Key - September 15th, 2009 (4 minutes, 26 seconds)Hi, I would like to know how one can determine what key is the individual playing there chord progression in and if it is major or minor key. View ResponseDavid Mackenzie - February 19th, 2008 (2 minutes, 10 seconds)Hsco askedm "I'm asking you this question because you seem to know ACDC very well. When I'm playing the beginning riff to highway to hell I'm getting a real bad buzzing or squealing noise when I transition from D to the rock G chord. It's in the beggining of the song, do I need to find a new chord to try to fit it in to the song. I've tried to palm mute and I can still hear it. Josh Alloway." View ResponseQuick Question - March 17th, 2008 (5 minutes, 42 seconds)JimmyCrowder says, "Quick question... Do I need to learn to read Notation as a guitarist? I am new to guitar and I am practicing to play in a praise and worship band at church. They play mostly pop and rock songs. They just use a sheet of paper with the chords on top of the verses... Also, could you please recommend a good practice routine? I can play about 1 hour a day" View Response
