About our Live Courses

We have upgraded, revamped, and organized in-studio, live weekly workshops broadcasted in 1080p. These focused, task-based workshops include full tablature, interactivity with the instruction, and even homework each week. We are bringing live, educational instruction into the next generation with this platform.

5,000 Lessons

In 2016, we completely re-engineered our recording studio with top of the line gear, including a full suite of 4k cameras complimented by a new audio outfit. The result is beautiful live streams to your computer, in qualities as high as 1080p!

79 Instructors

Each live course is supplemented with full tablature, music notation, and even backing tracks. Our live lessons are focused, planned, and even give you homework options on how to improve and look forward to the following week.

Live Lessons

Our staff fields questions from the audience throughout each section, and opens the "classroom" up for questions throughout each course. You also have the ability to call in live with your own video stream!

Our live platform has been a major focus over the past 18 months, and we are very excited to fully unleash it's capability! Attend any of these courses with a full JamPlay subscription and get the benefit of full interaction with our instructors in a focused, planned course. Slap a Knee and Hum a Tune

When learning anything new, it is best to work from the familiar outward. This lesson is going to bring us back to the basics. Starting with what we know is how we are going to begin to learn to play and sing together. Dave Yauk is going to bring us back to the days when learning rhythm was as easy as shooting the breeze on a back porch, while looking out across the plains at a Bayou sunset.

Accent that Knee and Tune

Continuing from our first week session on rhythm and independence, we will move forward this week in combining accent patterns to our study in playing and singing together.

Vocal Pedagogy

I know, I know. It would seem that a lesson on vocal performance would be useless in a class about guitar. However, if you’re going to play and sing at the same time, you need to know your limitations and strengths vocally, as well as proper technique in order to execute things properly.

Mimic Chord and Melody

We’re going to take our first steps this week into actually playing and singing. When you take your music theory knowledge and try to make it sound musical, the best place to start is with the familiar. In this session we’re going to do just that. We’ll take some simple chords, involve some simple walking notes, and we’ll use it to build competency between voice and playing.

Dissect a Song

Many of you are learning to play and sing together primarily to be able to enjoy performing your favorite cover songs. This week we’re going to take a couple sample tunes from today’s well known artists like Adele and John Mayer, and examine what they can do to teach us how to play and sing together more proficiently.

Invent a Song

Unlike last week, where we honed in on learning to play and sing together primarily to help you to play your favorite hits, this week, we are going to put your own songs to music.

Pocket

Pocket is usually considered a “drum” or “bass” thing, but as a singer/songwriter, you need to know your pocket and the best way to sing in the genre and style you're in. This lesson will explore the concept of pocket, and will help you to learn how to sing and play in a way that grooves.

Bring a Song

In the prior weeks I invited you all to submit song or lyric ideas. I said that I would take the top submissions and dissect them to reveal some helpful tips to put them to playing/singing live as we all interact so you all can view my process. In this lesson, I’ll present the submissions that I chose, and I will interact with them LIVE on camera.
