Chord Charts for 7 String Guitars

Note:
The first chord diagram listed for each chord voicing shows the fret numbers as well as the corresponding note names. The proper left hand fingering for each chord is included in the second diagram under each chord. Both chord charts are written out just like a tablature staff. In other words, the eighth string is listed at the bottom of the chart. All voicings are for an 7 string guitar tuned B, E, A, D, G, B, E from low to high.

Hey, not to pester by any means, but at first glance after watching the video, in the tab section of the 2nd clean guitar, pg 1, there is a note missing at the end of the lick in the 1st measure right before the tail of the riff. Hope this helps :)

Wait...where's the solo? You know, the really hard part?

thebluesstratocasterthebluesstratocaster replied on May 15th, 2011

It was hard as hell cause I played it on a six string but i managed to transfer it all nice tutorial dude I love your music

thebluesstratocasterthebluesstratocaster replied on May 15th, 2011

Well it wasn't that hard cause the majority is played with the bottom 6 strings

ian24ian24 replied on August 6th, 2010

man, i love that tone on the lead part. sounds soo nice!

lovelove replied on June 30th, 2010

AAL's album is freaking awesome! a song lesson i would really like is modern meat. it has a pretty chill vibe and i would love to play it on my acoustic.

chodypthchodypth replied on May 16th, 2010

Tosin is a damn monster, can't wait for the supplemental from matt. I've checked out some of the tabs on ultimate guitar, they seem to sound pretty accurate. but It'd be nice if tosin had some quality supplemental

jayarpeggiosjayarpeggios replied on June 5th, 2010

i dunno if they have new tabs up but everything i have seen on UG is off so much that it was annoying.. i had to learn a few by ear.. that is until someone on SS released a flawless tab book of every song.. of the 5 i have learned they were 100% correct. also thanks for uploading!! now PLEASE upload CAFO asap!!! :)

lostinchaoslostinchaos replied on April 27th, 2013

IM LATE BUT WHERE CAN I GET THOSE SS TABS

kluxxedkluxxed replied on May 15th, 2010

cant wait for the supplemental content! Thanks for an interesting lesson

mattbrownmattbrown replied on June 1st, 2010

Hey gang! I have some tabs in here now. I'm still working on the solos, but I'll get them up as soon as I can.

mattbrownmattbrown replied on May 15th, 2010

Just so you know, it's going to be at least a few weeks before I will be able to transcribing this song. I'm basically going to cover for Tosin for most of his lessons as far as supplemental content is concerned. I still have all of his previous phase 2 and phase 3 lessons to do before I get to this one. My best guess is that you'll start seeing some supplemental content for his lessons by the end of next week. I'm sorry that you have to wait so long, but I'm totally swamped at the moment. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Matt B

About Tosin Abasi View Full Biography Hi. My name is Tosin Abasi. I'm the lead guitarist for Animals as Leaders. I've been playing the guitar for 15 years, and touring professionally on and off for about 6.

A majority of that time has been spent playing extended range guitar (7 and 8 strings) . I'm primarily self taught but I studied jazz and classical guitar briefly at the Atlanta Institute of Music.

The extended range guitar can offer a lot of possibilities for composition. Unfortunately, the resources available to 6 string guitarist don't exist in the same prominence for the seven guitar (especially not the 8 string guitar). Through my compositions I hope to break down my approach to utilizing the 7 and 8 string guitar in both lead and rhythm work. We'll also examine multiple techniques such as Hybrid picking, Sweeping, Tapping and Slapping.
